was it something i said?

I’m the QUEEN of awkward moments, my entire LIFE seems to be a comedy of errors. I wasn’t going to write this because it’s VERY personal and my vulnerability level is at an all time high. At the same time, that gave me ALL the more reason to divulge. So today in between clients, I found a really cute picture of my new dog to send to my boyfriend’s mom via Facebook. Mind you, I’ve only met her a few times, but in those few times we seemed to have hit it off quite well. So as I’m typing her name into my FB friend search engine, I notice her name doesn’t appear in my list…hmmm. That could only mean one thing, right? Did she DELETE ME?!! I went ahead and did a general FB search and sure enough, she pops up PRIVATE. Was it something I said? Am I a temporary situation to her? Or MAYBE because my bf has made it so abundantly clear how much she loved his ex. Who knows?? In any awkward situation, there is opportunity for recovery, BELIEVE ME. And you know MAYBE it was a mistake like my sister suggested…but damn! This is a Larry David/Curb Your Enthusiasm moment for SURE. Should I bring it up or blow it off? Sounds petty, but the point is, rejection from your boyfriend’s MOTHER isn’t a nice feeling, even if it IS conveyed on a social networking site.

    Were you guys ever Facebook friends to begin with? (As in she deleted you?) Just send another friend request to her, I’m sure it was a mistake.

    Yes, we were! That’s the weird part :/ oh well! Things happen. Maybe she just wants the page for immediate family members like I did at first.

    I don’t blame you for feeling rejected. I honestly would want to know if I had done something wrong. I’d either request her again like Shew said or ask him. But the mother subject can be touchy. Anyway, she would be crazy not to love you.

    facebook is stupid, sometimes it erases people or posts. i know that’s happened to me a few time where some friends thought i had deleted them. but i guess if that’s not the case, bringing it up would be awkward…

    yeah, i would err on the side that FB mite have messed up! play stupid and send another friend request….see what happens!

    if she never approves you…i’d call and say, “hey facebook is so silly, it never lets me see ur page! so….wanna show u some new pics of Olive!” …

    and then see what she says….

    best thing to do with family, is kill them with kindness…if there IS an issue, she’ll have to get over it…ur too adorable not to love. and if she doesn’t u won’t ever be accused of not TRYING.

    sorry Sum, awkward happens! maybe she just needs and ff x hello drama necklace. lol.

    Maybe she does just want her page for immediate family like you said; it may just be she kinda wants it to be her kinda thing. And if she deleted you it could either be facebooks fault; or she just decided to make it her own thing. If she does have a problem with you then she should handle it in person, not just facebooks rejection you know? Haha.
    If you notice her begin to get “less affectionate” in some sort in person THEN we may have a problem;
    hope you get it all solved out; i know I’ve had my share of very discrete nudges and put downs from my boyfriends sister (his mom isn’t in the picture)
    and that ish can hurt; trust.

    I know you’ll figure it out; ya always do(:
