I received the cutest package from Urban Decay last week. A lot of cosmetic companies have added temporary tattoos to their lines (i.e. Chanel and Kat Von D) and now Urban Decay is introducing their own Body Jewelry. While I love the no-commitment approach of temporary tattoos, I really liked that this “mission” focused on some new products and how well they can improve your makeup game.

I thought about doing the stars on the back of my neck a la Rihanna, but I figured that would be too predictable so I chose the feather and I placed it on what I believe to be the sexiest part of a woman’s body… the decolletage.

So here you can see the tattoo looks very dark and shiny, not realistic at all.
They recommended applying their new high-tech Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder over top to mattify while still allowing it to look like real skin.

Urban Decay Razor Sharp is a silky, micro fine high-definition powder that fools the eyes with “optical blurring”. It has a smooth, flawless, soft-focus finish that’s flattering under even the harshest of lights. The no-mess container has an attached puff and handy on/off switch so it’s safe for travel. The universal shade suits all skin tones, so you’re covered year round.

Here I have applied the powder directly over top the temporary tattoo. I am also maniacally laughing as I plan to fake out my mother at her Labor Day bbq the following day.

Also included was one of Urban Decay’s new cruelty-free and vegan Good Karma brushes, the Good Karma Finishing Brush. This is Urban Decay’s high-definition finishing brush. High Def makeup products need super gentle brushes to smooth out the particles without completely brushing them away.

The outer box is made from recycled egg carton material, dyed black and stamped with a purple foil.

The brush “hair” is super soft and actually made from recycled PET plastic bottles.
The sleek gunmetal handle is made of recycled aluminum.

I used the Good Karma Finishing Brush to smooth the finishing powder and was left with a surprisingly realistic looking tattoo! I spritzed on Urban Decay’s All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray so it would stay immaculate over night and I was successful in faking out my mom.
She was not pleased… LOL!
Mission Accomplished

I REALLY dig the feather…..

miss.summer – yea girl! It’s ILL… U want it??
There’s daggers, feathers, chain, stars, and BFF charms for the chain!
Thanks La! I thought it was cute. U should’ve seen my mom’s face tho hahaha!
Thanks Camille – they are really great products. I’m glad I was put up to this “mission” or I probably would’ve never thought to try the powder and brush
dang that does look legit on your chest! but i don’t get the make up like what does it do?
I lick your neck Shew. I mean. I like your neck Shew.
daggers and chains??? oh my. LOLZ at Karlie
Karlie! :p
Kara – The makeup just made the temp tattoo look more realistic by giving it a matte, natural finish. The powder is a high-definition finishing powder. It has a soft focus finish that blurs imperfections. It was made for tv personalities because of new HD technologies. It is comparable to Make Up For Ever and MAC’s versions of high definition powder. Click the included highlighted link for Urban Decay Razor Sharp for more detailed info.
research shows that men believe that to be the sexiest part of the body
nice….
Really?? Guess I’m on point then… Awesome!
WAY to rad! love it…
Wow. I was really excited to find Urban Decay b/c of its no testing on animals policy and some great looking makeup. Sorry I have to say buh-bye now after seeing this Anti-Catholic bigoted sickening ad. Do you routinely go out of your way to offend Muslims and Jews and those of other faiths too? Showing a nun with the rosary in deep prayer w. the label fiend and saying don’t just pretent to love others? Very very very poor taste. I guess devout Catholics not welcome here. I was planning to make some purchases – forget it now. I’d rather buy from almost anywhere else.
Shame on you,
A soul-loving, rosary-praying Catholic.
Wow. Forget about me ever buying from Urban Decay.
Guess you don’t give a darn about your rosary praying Catholic customers. Truly a foul ad.
A soul-loving, rosary-praying Catholic.
Urban Decay is an apt name. You recently contacted a friend of mine trying to defend the use of the nun in your picture, saying you are a practicing Catholic. You are clearly a practicing Catholic who doesn’t understand what she is practicing. Replacing the Crucifix with a gun is the epitome of ridiculous – images mean something, this one is very telling. I am not some 90 yo scrupulous lady – I am a young person engaged in society, yet in touch with God. I recommend a visit to Confession…and pray you can truly search your soul for truth – I say this in love, and in memory of His ultimate gift of love and respect for our sinful souls…
Lynne and Andrea…
Matthew 7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged”.
PS ladies… the nun logo is owned by US, NOT Urban Decay. Do your homework before you send out your little love notes.
I am Catholic, as are many of our readers, and in our three years I have never heard of our website offending anyone. Catholics are welcome here. Hate is NOT.
The Fresh Fiends embrace ALL religions
In defense of Urban Decay – Any imagery that you see on our blog, or any other blog for that matter, has nothing to do with them or any other brands that we review.
Make up and Catholicism…I fail to see the connection. Get a grip people.
Thank you Liz, I think these ladies are a little confused on how to navigate a BLOG.
It is not the make up, it is the picture. A nun praying with a rosary with a gun on the end is not what these ladies envision when thinking of loving others as you suggest. Obviously the picture is supposed to be trendy and have “deep” meanings, but is offensive to those who take their faith seriously and those called to be in the religious life. I see their point. Enough said.
wow just now catching up on the wild talk about the nun logo. “shame on you” hahahahahahahahahaha……..u must be pretty offended throughout life. not just our blog. good luck with that.
Pure ignorance by those two. They didn’t even know this is a blog site and NOT a product market site.
Perhaps they should find out what the Fiends are about BEFORE saying anything.
Why spread hate? Just keep it moving…please!
LMFAO! Lynne you just got CHURCHED! Find me at St. Catherine’s for Sunday mass on Central and Southern so we can talk about the right way to web bang before you start typing away all crazy thinking you sound legit because you threw in your religion! LMFAO Amen to that!
An email from Andrea:
Summer,
Though I cannot know the content of your soul, the pain of your past, or the consequences you have suffered at the hands of others, it is my responsibility as a Christian to judge your actions, as we all need to gauge others’ actions. If not, we would be left with chaos and a dictatorship of relativism.
The women’s movement has done a lot for raising the dignity of women in certain ways. Unfortunately, it has also brought about a scourge of great suffering for women. Violence agains women has increased dramatically since the 1960’s. The gigantic increase in divorce alone is a great burden for women, taking away their life choices as to staying home and raising their children IF THEY CHOOSE TO, or even their choices to have children.
The point is that so much that is good in this world is being warped and perverted, and I ask you to consider the image that you portray with your website. Feminist, certainly. Militant, no doubt. But is it good? Is it helping or hurting your sisters?
I do not share your anger. I really wish you only God’s love.
Andrea M.
*LOL at “the gigantic increase of divorce”…
Omg. I actually feel kinda sorry for such ignorance.
She’s wildly misinformed on her religion. As someone who attended Catholic School for 11 years I’m CERTAIN that she’s got it pretty twisted. Wow! This is exactly what’s wrong with this country. She probably supports SB 1070 also as it’s her “responsibility to judge our actions”.
I went to Catholic school too and I know what you mean. Anti-feminism is never discussed. These types of extremists are everywhere (in this case, Michigan)
They are the types that protest gay marriage and Lady Gaga concerts.
They do not represent the majority.
So, we may be considered “edgy” but if you don’t like what you see here, simply keep it moving.
Oh boy! people are a out of control throwing religion into everything. Get a grip ppl. As for the nun rosary thing.. haha I guess I never looked at it like that, I saw a hoodie
Christina I LOVE you to the maxxxxxxxxxxxxx!
I LOVE you more Oscar!
