The Scent of THIS Woman

I have to give my dearest friend, Sarrah credit for this post. Last week we were reminiscing about different scents we wore throughout the years, and I’m glad there’s someone besides me that remembers this stuff. My favorite thing about perfume is that it’s the finishing touch on your most amazing outfit… your number one “sexcessory” ;) Here is a little history for you guys, enjoy :)

It all started with seeing this on my mom’s dressing table. She looked so elegant getting ready for a night out and splashing this on. I prayed to turn 21 so I could club with mom. I was only 4. ;)

Elementary School: I’m sure we all remember Love’s Baby Soft, the sweet smelling, virginal cologne spray for preteens everywhere. I, however, gravitated toward it’s evil twin, Baby Soft Musk. MMM.

Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson. It smelled like a hooker but I really liked the coily thing in the middle.

My mom would NOT let me buy Exclamation, but let me have this. HA!

Never actually owned a full bottle, but my older cousin would throw me her samples. I STILL love the smell!

Middle School: During puberty, my taste grew a little more pricey. I received this in the 7th grade from my “boyfriend” :)

Then by 8th grade he was HISTORY, so my girlfriends pooled their allowances and bought me this. I had a thing for Givenchy ok?

High School: 9th grade is when my FIRST serious boyfriend happened and he bought me this as a Christmas gift. Mom: It smells like booze and smoke. Me: That’s actually what I’m trying to acheive. ;)

Does anyone remember Liv Tyler in the very first ad campaign for this? Probably the only reason I bought it. It stank.

College years to PRESENT: There’s absolutely nothing like the aroma of Thierry Mugler’s Angel. The scent is different on every female and also adjusts to hormonal shifts in your body. Sometimes sweet, sometimes musky, ALWAYS sexy.

What’s YOUR history smell like??

I got my 1st perfume in 6th grade “Cool Water” I stopped using it because it started to smell like pinesol! But I wanted to bad because my uncle’s girlfriend would wear it all the time and I loved her LOL!

During middle school it was all about Love Spell from Vikki Secrets and Curve haha.

In high school I remember I used to use Romance by Ralph Lauren, I still love the smell especially when you about to get freaky witcho man hahaha! Then I messed with “True Star” (I think thats the name) by Beyonce but it started to make my head hurt. But my signature smell of high school was “Be Delicious” from DKNY I used the green until the red apple came out mmm I still mess with this perfume on occasion!

For awhile now I have been using “Halo” by Vikki Secrets, it always reminded me of a grandma smell but I love it!
Currently I use “Wild” by Ralph Lauren and when I go out I use “Daisy” by Marc Jacobs which reminds me of the pink baby shampoo from Johnson & Johnson lol. But I’m really thinking about buying that new JLO Glow perfume it reminds me of gummy bears lol!

Love this post Summer… I wasn’t much into perfume until I turned 18, mostly because my mom has allergies to scented products so I could never wear perfume. I always wore Victoria’s Secret Love Spell body splash as a youngin. (quintana – hey girl hey) Chanel Coco Mademoiselle EDP has been my signature scent for almost 10 years now…

OMG!! My mom used to wear Jean Nate, too. I always remember putting some on and thinking I was sooo grownup. Man, I miss the 80’s. In elementary school, I was an avid wearer of Exclamation and Loves Baby Soft. And then in Jr. High it was all about Obsession, but that shit would give me headaches. And then in high school it was Strawberries and Champagne spray from Victoria’s Secret until it started reminding me of strippers. Have you ever noticed that all strippers smell like that??? LOL. Now that I’m a grownup, I’m all about classics such as: Michael Kors, and Issey Miyake… mmmm

I LOVE this post! So crazy how a smell can bring you back down memory lane! I totally had the Sunflower perfume in junior high! I loved Escada Ibiza Hippie when it came out but they always change their perfume so they don’t carry it anymore unless someone knows where…my dresser has a plethora of different perfumes from Ralph Lauren Romance, a couple different bottles of Givenchy, some Gucci perfume, some Burberry perfumes to my all time fave…Ja’Dore Dior! I get so many compliments when I wear it. It smells like a clean, fresh scent.

OMG, I’m such a perfume snob. I used to snag my sister’s Exclamation all the time. You also forgot to mention “sunflowers” with that babysoft, haha omg and “Malibu Musk” can you imagine rocking that shit today? So so wrong. My scent of choice these days is, Stella by Stella Mccartney, Miss. Dior Cherie (L’eau fraiche)and Burberry Weekend. I have a few more but I rotate them depending on my mood.
