in an all-about-me world, we tend to want to hoard accolades, limelight and attention.  unfortunately, it’s a default human flaw that has been exacerbated by the evil internets with all of their default-photoing and status-updating demonics.  i participate in the madness too, so i am as guilty as anyone else in our www-dot generation.

a lot of us delude ourselves into thinking it really is all about us, and that we don’t need anyone else to succeed in this big, bad world.  i’ve learned first-hand that this is one of the biggest deceptions of our generation, and nothing could be further from the truth. 

in order to accomplish truly great things without running yourself into the ground, going insane, and/or becoming a strung-out drug addict, it takes a team effort.  there is no one successful individual who “made it” without a collective of folks supporting their dream and lending a hand.

thefreshfiends.com is an excellent example of what us women can do when we join forces for a common goal.  all of us here have the dream of representing ladies in a fresh, educated and positive light.  luckily, the creators of this site (lady la and miss.summer) see the benefit in sharing their forum and allowing others like shew and i to contribute our perspective.  they set a great example and showcase a lesson we all need to learn:  there’s strength in numbers.
