I know I said stay tuned for my review next week, but that’s because I was expecting my trial to last that long. Today is day four and I’m ready to give my review, mostly because I’m ready to rip them off and try out China Glaze Fortune Teller.
Sooo… without further adieu, here is the Shew Review:

Day One
Minx nail wrappings are applied after a mini-manicure is done. The oil and lotion portions of the manicure are left out so that nothing affects the adhesion of the minx.
The wrappings look like stickers, they are applied to the base of the nail and heat is applied as theystretch the sticker to conform to your nail bed. Pressure is applied to seal the wrapping, then the excess is clipped. Finally, the tip is filed down with a crysal file.
Tah Dah! So far so good right?

Day Two
Corners are starting to lift, especially on my index finger. I wasn’t expecting to see this so soon, a bit disappointed.

Day Three
The corners continue to lift and the tips on some nails are completely peeling back. At this point I just want to rip them off but I dont. Instead I decide to clip my nails along with the minx wrappings to get rid of the peeled edges.

Clipped, re-filed, and good as new, with the exception of my index finger which had peeled much further than the rest. If you don’t have long fingernails you wouldn’t have this option to make the minx mani last longer.
In defense of the product, my manicurist used a blowdryer instead of the recommended heating lamp to apply heat to the wrappings. Some techs use different methods, it is what it is. In addition to that, here are some of the things that I do on a daily basis with my hands that Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and other Minx lovers probably dont:
Style a 6 year olds hair
Tie her shoes
Dishes
Laundry
Cook
Clean
Jeans shopping (buttoning and unbuttoning jeans took a toll on my index)
Hand washing (habitual)
Washing my hair in the shower
All these things I’m sure had a lot to do with my minx manicure not lasting very long. Was I disappointed? Yes. Would I do it again? Abso-fucking-lutely! I think it looks bad ass while it lasts and there is just no other way to get the same effect on your nails. I recommend getting Minx nail wrappings on special occasions rather than a “just because” manicure. I would also recommend scheduling your appointment for the DAY OF the event/party.
Here are some of the designs that I eventually want to try…

To schedule an appointment with the nail tech that I went to, call Xpressions Salon and ask for Leah (623) 869-8058

OMG i wannna do them sooooooo bad! super cool!
how much did they end up costing for you? i asked around in my area and they were going for $100.
Oh hell, that’s insane. I paid $30. Leah’s prices are competitive. Others here are charging a bit more but def not $100. I’d call around a bit more…

Thanks Guys!
UPDATE: My friend Amber that went with me and got the stripes on her short nails, I saw her today and hers still look great! Almost a week later. I think they stay longer on shorter nails and the metallic minx may just not last as long as other minx wraps.
My Minx silver metallic lasted a month on my toes and 2 1/2 weeks on my hands. I have two young boys and work. I’m pretty tough on my nails.
We don’t believe you… you need more people.
From all the people I know with metallic minx experiences, they don’t last more than one week, if that. I’ve seen a girl review that hers lated 2 months or something ridiculous. I believe it about your toes tho.
One thing you can get here at TheFreshFiends.com is honest reviews. I will not bullshit my readers. Sorry bout it.
