My fifth LUSH review is for the Sugar Scrub.
“While it scrubs your old dead skin away, it also tickles you with ginger root to stimulate your circulation. We add fennel to help to tackle cellulite. Getting a good scrub with Fair Trade sugar makes you feel good all over, from your lovely smooth buttocks to your nice clean conscience.”
Pros: Exfoliates nicely. My skin felt smooth, soft, and moisturized.
Cons: Not sure how I feel about the smell. It’s a tad strong and masculine.
I’d like something more sweet like vanilla.
Lack of packaging, while environmentally conscious, leaves the product to pretty much disintegrate if left in the shower. My chunk (half a ball) lasted 3 showers.
I will probably try the sweet soft-centered Sugar Babe next.

LUSH Sugar Scrubs retail for $4.95 for a 3.5oz. ball

These are cute! I’d like if they offered a few more scents though and some new colors besides just the two. I like how it’s a solid scrub though!
I agree… They had the cutest little Fairy Tale sugar scrub that smelled like strawberries and creme but it was limited for the holidays
I love their “Buffy” bar it has shea and cocoa butter, and is the best if you have really dry skin
I’ve heard about the Buffy Bar! LUSH Scottsdale is having a party on SuperBowl Sunday. I may snag some then. There’s so much I want to try
When I got my pack they left my sugar scrub out
I’m sad. But, yeah, the ‘Buffy’ body butter I tried at the store and liked however I ended up buying ‘You Snap The Whip’ body butter because it smelled amazing. HOWEVER, I do not recommended it. It was 12 bucks and gone in 3 showers and it really gets your bathtub messy and black =/
Oh, and Shew, they are also having really fun contests on their Scottsdale Facebook page. One is make your own jersey for the Superbowl and upload a picture and the winner gets some prize. Not sure if you, or anyone else joined, but the link is http://www.facebook.com/pages/LUSH-Cosmetics-Scottsdale/232710104594 so far it looks like I am the only one participating! LOL! =P
Seems like a great product! I wonder if it would last longer if it was protected some how…
Mimi a body butter turned your tub black? Yikes. I’m not getting THAT one! Lol! I’m more interested in the handmade soaps and bubble bars. And Maybe a bath bomb or two
I hope I don’t go too crazy when I go the the party Sunday. Thanks for letting us know about that Facebook contest. I hope you win!!
Ateanna I really wish there was some kind of case for it, but then again that’s the whole no packaging novelty of the products. I think if you take it out of the shower afterward or place it high up out of the waters way maybe it would last longer.
The pink sugar scrub last longer and breaks up easier. The green one got super hard and was difficult to crumble for use.
Mab good to know, can’t wait to try that one (Sugar Babe)
The Sugar Babe smells really good! I broke it up into pieces, then took one piece of it into the shower at a time, so it doesn’t get all dissolved away in the water.
There’s also videos on youtube about how you can turn it into a paste if you crumble it up, mix it with water (I think?), and freeze it. I’m not sure if I’ll ever try that, but I think it’s really cool how you can do different things with the Lush products.
