REALLY Benefit??? Really?

Our friend and famed photog/makeup artist, Michael Franco was kind enough to reveal his favorite, most used concealer: Benefit’s Erase Paste. Absolutely amazing stuff! Instantly brightens bags like no other and blends seamlessly! BUT…why does it only come in THREE shades?? Fair, Medium, and Deep (which looks more like Cafe Au Lait to me) are the choices. Granted, I know ALL about statistics and demographics, blah blah blah. And I definitely know when concealing a blemish or dark circle, the makeup should be an EXACT match to your skin, NOT 10 shades lighter. It IRKS the shit out of me when I see a great line limit themselves to light skinned clientele. That’s the number one reason MAC is clearly the forefront of foundations (despite the rumors of it being terrible for your skin). Attention makeup companies: it’s 2010, ante up! See what I’m squawking about HERE.

Here’s a funny excerpt from the site’s testimonials:

what else you need to know: Three shades with brightening melon undertones to suit every complexion.

LOL 3 shades does NOT suit every complexion, sorry!

Someone please explain this phenomena to me.

Summer did you try the colors on in person or just look at the online swatches?

Im almost positive Michael used Medium on me, but the fact that there’s only 3 shades to choose from is ridiculous. It’s just not a wide enough range

From the looks, not only are the shades too few, but the undertones in Medium look too pink and Deep looks too orange.

The following in my opinion are great concealers and come in a better variety of intensity/tone:

I agree. But ur absolutely right, certain cosmetic companies just wont make shades that they don’t think will sell :/
This goes both ways. Some people complain that MAC doesn’t make pale enough shades for them!
