Description: “Last year, Oscar Grant was murdered in Oakland, California by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) police officer, Johannes Mehserle who was recently sentenced for involuntary manslaughter (minimum sentence for murder). This is the first time in California where a police officer was ever indicted for murder. In remembrance of Oscar Grant and the ongoing struggle to hold police accountable and bring them to justice, I hope these earrings allow the wearer to dialogue with those unaware of the issue.”
