Go ahead, light one up.

Anyone who knows me knows about the love affair I have with Saint candles.  No, I’m not Catholic and no, I don’t practice any habitual witchery (shouts to miss.summer), but something about lighting a Saint candle gives me peace.  I’m such a fan in fact, that I always have one burning inside my fireplace and I also light several every week at my club night.

Every time I light a candle, whether it be a Saint or otherwise, I make a note to light it for a reason and with an intention.  I’ll say to myself “I’m lighting this candle for peace of mind”, and while it burns, I trust that peace of mind is manifesting itself for me by way of the flame.  Sound creepy to you?  It’s not, I swear.  It’s a lot like the blog I posted where I discussed the importance of writing on the mirror.  It’s about intention and training your mind to cement positive messages instead of negative ones with every action you take.

I make a monthly pilgrimage to Food City for my Saints (they have an awesome selection, plus they have plain colored glass ones, too) and usually go through a candle every four or so days.  I light them for protection, to manifest love, in honor of someone else, or to help create prosperity in some fashion.

There’s not a lot of things that you can light up these days without getting cancer, going to jail or losing your teeth.  That being said, give a Saint a chance.  It’s safe, I promise*.

*Just don’t burn your house down.  Kaythanks.

Hmmm I have heard of this before…
Heard of the book The Secret? Talks all about positive thinking and how doing so attracts positive things in your life.
Thus you can get or have whatever you want.
Never thought about lighting a candle but it sounds like an opportunity to turn off the lights and relax.
    Love it!
