I lost my job before I lost my mind, and thank God. I’m not sure where or how I’ll end up employed next but I’m taking some LONG overdue ME TIME. sounds corny I know. but it isn’t. For the first time in my life I don’t have a format. a checklist. or a gang of material rewards that will pat me on the back for being ’successful’. Excuse me world, while I live. I’m taking my time off to see the world the way I’ve always wanted to. without time constraint. without reason. I’ll keep you posted on how that turns out for me.

You definitely deserve time off! Look at what the freedom did for Karlie. I’m sure you’ll do excellent.
When all else fails you can always be the “weed guy”
JK! this is the universe telling you that there’s an even bigger picture out there for you. 
I made a choice to see this as an opportunity and then everything started to change. It was like magic. It was my first real vacation as an adult-my rules, my terms, and my time. I worked out everyday and got muscles, did yoga and Zumba (don’t judge me; I have a smile on my face 99% of the time in that class). I got in touch with all the friends that I hadn’t seen because I was too busy working and being tired or lazy afterwards. I job searched twice a week and mailed & emailed my resume to potential employers once a week.
I took after Carrie Bradshaw and gallivanted around hot ass Phoenix, and went to free events at the museum and downtown. I took the light rail to nowhere, people watched, and got to know my city. I shopped and ate local spending my hard-earned unemployment on food, beer, concerts & gas. I read lots of books, cleaned and walked my dogs to the park and had picnics. I started getting free tickets to baseball games and concerts, invitations to spend a couple of weeks in San Diego and Lake Tahoe. I took advantage of having friends that work at resorts, restaurants, and media companies and friends of friends with hook ups, haha. I even participated in civil disobedience and got active. I got my tan on and hung out at exclusive pools jetsetter style. It was my summer of freedom and it never felt so good. Everything started unfolding in a way that made me realize that this did happen for a reason. It was the perfect setting for some soul searching and much needed rest. I was exactly where I needed to be and God was working his magic in a way that I wouldn’t have noticed before. Things happened that were soo amazing, had I been at work I would have missed or never witnessed.
I’ve had the best summer, have the best of friends, the greatest life and feel like the luckiest girl. Losing my job made me stronger physically and emotionally. Q is ready to take over the world and you should be too. The universe is definitely telling you to move on to bigger and better things. Keep your head up.
Sorry for the long post. The first sentence was suposed to say this happened to me too.
I loved your first sentence. You are a great example of how we sometimes need to be on top of our life rather than letting other things control our life. You know what makes me mad is hearing about these other companies that lay off their workers right before they hit retirement so they don’t have to pay them retirement. Now that’s just selfish.
I’ll always be proud of you in whatever/wherever you decide to do La- well deserved YOU time indeed. Love ya-

Wow love your story Q and La, you are very creative and from what ive heard on the radio and seen on the posts since following FF you are very diverse and open minded. You are young and have a lot to offer take some time for yourself and when you least expect it you will see some unexpected opportunities. I know you will be fine La.
