DIY Brush Holders
Rectangle Vases from Ikea $2.49 each
Plastic Pellets from Hobby Lobby $3
The plastic pellets hold the brushes in place. You could also use clear or colored beads from a craft store like Michael’s. They may be a bit more expensive though.
Ps. I just got a new setup for my makeup area, an early Mothers Day gift. It feels good to be organized. My new setup is right by the window so I can let in natural light. Natural light is great for doing makeup. The lighting will be perfect for product photos and possibly some upcoming videos too

IKEA Malm dressing table
It has a nice large drawer for goodies. I Love Love Love it! If you have been looking for something like this to get you organized, I definitely recommend it

I need something like this in my life! And I love your idea for the brush holders. My Hello Kitty one is getting a little full
Actually the other day me & my girl Ashley were thinking about going to As You Wish to paint our own brush holders! I thought it would be a cute idea that way we can personalize it. Did you get the plastic organizers at Ikea too?
I love it! i need this and fast! do they have it in black?? i have a similar brush holder but i have pink small marble thingys haha! great minds think alike
LUV ur set up Shew!!
shew you are the cutest:) diy brush holder on my list to do!
grizelle- Yes the plastic inserts were in the same area as the dressing tables and your personalized brush holder idea is adorable
Jo – My store had it in like 4 different colors. Light oak, Birch Veneer (like mine), Medium brown, and Brown-Black (which looks black)
Alissa – You could put Hello Kitty stickers on your DIY brush holders!
I love it! Malm anything from Ikea is amazing. Such a good value and looks pricey
I love your brush holder idea. I’ve been looking around for a brush roll for the LONGEST TIME. im a bit hesitant to use a holder and leave the brushes standing up because I’m afraid dust will collect on them. Do you have that problem too? Or how do you overcome that? Xx
I honestly use my brushes so often that they don’t have a chance to collect dust! But I understand your concern. You can probably just dust them off on a towel every other day if they aren’t being used
[...] These brushes are made of synthetic fibers and are super soft. If you are in need of new eye brushes, give these a try. You get all three for the price of $35, where as these same types of brushes from MAC would cost you $72.50. Only bad thing about these is that I would feel bad putting them face first into my brush holder! [...]
I love this new set. I would love to know where you got your plastic organizers inside the drawer from… Thank you soo much for your help.
