The Official 40th Anniversary of Earth Day is April 22, 2010 but since environmental awareness has become increasingly popular over the years, April is now being called Earth Month. What better way to celebrate Earth Month than to have a Giveaway featuring LUSH Cosmetics! LUSH does not test on animals, they do not overpackage their products, in fact a majority of their products have no packaging at all. Now just in time for Earth Day and Mothers Day, they will be offering a new eco-friendly gift wrapping service that wraps your LUSH goodies into a knot-wrap which can be reused as a scarf! Super cute if you ask me…

I know where I will be shopping for my Mothers Day Gifts!
Now on to the Goods…

These delicious, new scrubs are made with castor sugar and organic jojoba oil to soften and smooth even the most parched pouts. Exfoliating lips with a lip scrub helps the skin hold more moisture, prevents chapping, removes dry flaky skin and makes lips silky smooth. Choose from three mouth-watering flavors: Mint Julip, Sweet Lips and Bubblegum.

Hit the jump for reviews and details on the giveaway…

So as you can see below it doesn’t look like Chanel’s Duo Platinum Silver polish will be re-released with the Summer Collection.

My ninth LUSH review is on the Each Peach Massage Bar.
“Massages are enjoyable for numerous reasons; they help us relax, they soothe sore muscles, and sometimes (like when you use an Each Peach) they moisturize your skin and uplift your spirits. Because this bar is packed with cocoa, shea, avocado and mango butters, it’s a fantastic moisturizer. Plus, we add sweet orange oil, lime and grapefruit oils to refresh and wake you up. Perfect for a fruity, uplifting massage.”
Pros: I gave my husband a massage with this bar. It melts into a buttery cream on contact with skin. I rubbed it on his back a bit to melt off some cream and then just massaged the cream into his back. He said it was very relaxing and the cream was very moisturizing. No greasy feeling, cream absorbed well after a nice long massage. Smells like Lemon PEZ!!
Cons: I had him use it on me the next night. Unfortunately my sensitive skin is allergic to something in it. I got itchy with red splotches. Had to jump in the shower and wash it off. This happened to me with a massage oil from Fascinations once. This shouldn’t turn you off from trying it unless you have super sensitive skin like mine.
Each Peach (And Two’s a Pair) Massage Bar retails for $8.75 for a 2.2oz. bar.

LUSH Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

My eighth LUSH review is on the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter.
“Inside is a thick, nourishing butter that moisturizes the hardest areas – elbows, heels, cuticles and nails. You just need a tiny dab (one pot lasts us months) of this rich lemon cream. Rub the Shea butter, cold pressed avocado oil and mango butters in to moisturize and nourish skin. Massage a bit in daily and you won’t have to deal with hangnails and cracked skin any longer!”
Pros: This has a lemony scent that I really like. I rubbed this into my cuticles, then on my hands and put on my moisturizing gloves. My hands looked and felt great the next morning. A little goes a long way. I’m going to start using this on my feet/heels before bedtime with socks. For me this replaces the hand and foot creams from the kit. I will repurchase this product.
Cons: Thick and a bit greasy, but not a problem if used in pm only.
Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter retails for $13.25 for a 1.5oz tub

ONLY ONE REVIEW LEFT BEFORE I ANNOUNCE THE LUSH GIFT CARD WINNER!

My sixth and seventh LUSH reviews are on the Fair Trade Foot Lotion and Handy Gurugu Hand Cream.
I’m grouping them together because they are pretty much in the same category and they also happened to be my least favorite products in the kit and I don’t have much to say about them.
Hey, they can’t all be winners…

My fifth LUSH review is for the Sugar Scrub.
“While it scrubs your old dead skin away, it also tickles you with ginger root to stimulate your circulation. We add fennel to help to tackle cellulite. Getting a good scrub with Fair Trade sugar makes you feel good all over, from your lovely smooth buttocks to your nice clean conscience.”
Pros: Exfoliates nicely. My skin felt smooth, soft, and moisturized.
Cons: Not sure how I feel about the smell. It’s a tad strong and masculine.
I’d like something more sweet like vanilla.
Lack of packaging, while environmentally conscious, leaves the product to pretty much disintegrate if left in the shower. My chunk (half a ball) lasted 3 showers.
I will probably try the sweet soft-centered Sugar Babe next.

LUSH Sugar Scrubs retail for $4.95 for a 3.5oz. ball

My fourth LUSH review is on the New! Solid Shampoo
“We call it New because it’s full of stimulating essential oils to encourage healthy hair growth. We put in refreshing peppermint and cinnamon infusions for a healthy scalp and stimulating rosemary and nettle absolutes for shine. If you’re losing your mane because of hormones or age, try New shampoo and see if it doesn’t do the trick.”

Pros: First of all, I love the idea of no packaging, one less plastic shampoo bottle that will end up in a landfill. This lathers really nicely and smells of mint and cinnamon. My hair and scalp felt and looked noticeably cleaner. My hair was shiny and I even got a random compliment from a guy who said I had “really pretty hair”, (he was with his girlfriend, awkward!) I’ve used this several times and there is still a LOT left, this will last a long time, probably 3 months. I also noticed my scalp doesn’t get oily anymore! I will repurchase.
Cons: None! Although one concern I have is I’m not sure it’s safe for color-treated hair.
New! Solid Shampoo retails for $9.25 for 1.9oz.

My third LUSH review is for their Paradise Regained Facial Moisturizer.
“At LUSH we rely on taking great care of our skin using natural AHA’s, antioxidants, softening oils and butters. Active enzymes in fruit (like pineapples) really go to town brightening up the skin while oils and butters nourish and moisturize. The paradise of our youth may be lost, but happy, healthy skin can be regained.”

Pros: A little goes a long way. Very moisturizing, almost like a balm. Would be great for dry, mature skin. This didn’t aggravate my dermatitis-prone skin which is a plus.
Cons: Too much for oily gals, I needed to blot more than usual throughout the day. The price is more than I’m used to spending on moisturizer. I want to try the Celestial Moisturizer next which is specifically for sensitive skin, and it’s less than half the price ![]()
Paradise Regained Moisturizer retails for $46.95 for 1.7oz.
