Regardless of what the media, naysayers, and sanctimonious critics may tell you, DJ AM inspired the lives of people around the globe: friends, peers, and up-and-comers. To be clear, I did NOT know him. I was NOT friends with him, nor did I care to meddle into his personal affairs via the tabloids or mutual acquaintances . I know absolutely NOTHING about dj’ing. But I DO know this: What it feels like to never leave a dance floor ONCE because the music’s so good. The feeling of hearing some insane remix I never thought was possible. The immense amount of energy ONE person can bring to a nightclub. THAT is rocking a party. And that’s exactly what AM did. Period. Bottom line, to those who questioned this man’s ability as an artist or passed judgement on his ill fate, let me ask you this: What have YOU done to positively affect those around you? Who have YOU influenced? DJ AM: We forever salute you.
