A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of attending Karlie Hustle’s very first Semi-Pro Seminar. Why? Mostly in support of my friend, but also because the music industry has been a big part of my life. My husband has been in Phoenix Radio for over 10 years, Los Angeles before that, and it was good to understand and take in everything about the music industry (ups and downs) from someone else’s point of view.

The seminar was extremely informative and resourceful, and I imagine that they will only get better as she continues. I encourage anyone who is interested in getting into the music business, especially aspiring artists and artist managers, to attend this seminar.

Thanks to one of our commentators, I was able to find the website belonging to a co-creator of Cosby (see Anyone Home? post below). The visuals on HRSTUDIOPLUS are as stimulating as the line was. I haven’t swooned over anything since The Boobs (AND finding my Jeffrey Campbell knockoff wedges). Much love and thanks to our readers, who are the most helpful little things in the world!

Whatever happened to men’s brand, Cosby Clothing?? Their Crime Mob/Pusha T And Malice shirts were dope (as well as their “Still Creepin” lookbook) AND they really didn’t say much, which I admire. Brands that create QUIETLY and let the work speak for itself win my respect. I didn’t know much about this line but what I DID know, I loved!! Can anyone explain their mysterious disappearance?

Brooklyn’s Finest  was comparable to an east coast version of Training Day. Not a coincidence considering its the same director! The movie comes out March 5th and if you’re into the crooked cop scenarios and moral dilemmas check it out! Interviewing the cast was awesome….they were all so cool. A little bummed I didn’t see Richard Gere anywhere

Vanessa Paradis, French actress, singer, Chanel muse, and Johnny Depp’s mystery woman. Not too shabby a life at all! I love seeing her at events, which is pretty seldom. From her head to toe black (typically Chanel), red lips, and gapped teeth, she’s an unconventional beauty. *Fun fact: The island she shares with BD Johnny Depp has been nicknamed “FUCK OFF Island”. Très magnifique!

I won’t post all the details on NYFW, we’ll leave that for Women’s Wear Daily. But I definitely had to share a few of my favorite looks from Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. line. This is why we love Ms. Stefani so much: “It’s all about what I want to wear really.” (referring to the collection). Throughout her entire career, Gwen has seldom used stylists and I love seeing her recreate the chola/rude girl/Anaheim pinup persona in EVERYTHING she puts out, from the music, to the videos, to L.A.M.B. to Harajuku Lovers. She pours every last ounce of herself into her work and it shows. Bravo!
