MAC Viva Glam Gaga and Cyndi Lipglass

MAC lipglass versions of Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi will be hitting stores in September. These will retail for $14.50 each and will only be available for a six month period.

As always, 100% profits will go to the MAC AIDS Fund.

In other MAC news… the Rodarte Collection was pulled and will not ship after all. MAC Cosmetics will still donate the collection’s projected global profits to a charity that benefits the women and children of Juarez, Mexico.

eau de khlodom? would you?

According to the Twitter account of Women’s Wear Daily, Khloe and Lamar Kardashian will launch a unisex fragrance just in time for Valentine’s Day. Would you? I feel like a fragrance collaboration is as dooming as tattooing your partner’s name on you. But that’s just me.

UPDATE: MAC for Rodarte

Since the promo images and product names struck the internet last week, people all over the world have been in an uproar over the Bordertown inspired MAC for Rodarte Collection.

The people have spoken, and apparently MAC listened.

_________________________________________________________________________________

From MAC Cosmetics:

“We understand that product names in the M·A·C Rodarte collection have offended our consumers and fans. This was never our intent and we are very sorry. We continue to listen carefully to the comments we have received and have the following plans to address concerns:

  • We are committed to donating $100,000 to a non-profit organization that has a proven, successful track-record helping women in need and that can directly improve the lives of women in Juarez in a meaningful way.
  • We are changing the product names in the M·A·C Rodarte collection.

As we have done in the past, please be assured that we will communicate details regarding our progress in this matter.”

_________________________________________________________________________________

From Rodarte:

“We recognize that the violence against women taking place in Juarez needs to be met with proactive action. We never intended to make light of this serious issue and we are truly sorry.

Helping to improve the conditions for women in Juarez is a priority for us and we are thankful for all the comments calling attention to the urgency of addressing this situation.”

MAC & Disney Announce Venomous Villains Collection

MAC & Disney Venomous Villains – September 2010

MAC Cosmetics is teaming up with Disney to create a limited edition color collection, intended to launch globally in late September in all MAC locations. The products will feature four Disney characters, on which the brand is keeping mum at the moment — although with a collection name of Venomous Villains, it is assumed that we’re not talking Donald Duck and Minnie Mouse here. Lipstick, powder, lip gloss and blush shades will be sold, ranging in price from $12 to $29.50.” – WWD

So much for keeping mum about the characters because I found a video. I see Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, The Evil Queen, and Dr. Facilier aka Shadow Man from Princess and the Frog!

Peep the Video HERE

I imagine a glossy vamp color or glossy black for the packaging :)

What type of colors do you hope to see, and what would the packaging ideally look like?

hey boy, hey…

Archie Comics announced the introduction of their first openly-gay character, Kevin Keller. Kevin will make his entrance in the September issue #202 where Veronica will set her sights on the “hot new guy”. Kevin will apparently try to let her down easily and is quoted as saying, “It’s nothing against her. I’m gay.”  Whatever it takes to stay relevant right? ;)

I used to read Archie comics as a kid and while I think it’s great, I’m not sure how the majority of parents will feel about this. What do YOU think about the new addition to Riverdale High?

bidding adieu to SHU

According to WWD, beauty brand Shu Uemura (a favorite of FF) will close ALL of their U.S. operations (no set date has been determined). Says Carol Hamilton (president of L’Oreal USA’s Luxury Division, who houses Shu Uemura), “This decision is about our desire to focus on growing the larger brands in the Luxury Products portfolio, not because the brand isn’t vibrant and beautiful. We love the brand, but it is a very small part of our portfolio. It’s a simple decision after a very complex analysis: we have a very large portfolio, and we want to focus on growing the brands which have a larger presence in the U.S. market.” But don’t fret TOO much, you’ll still be able to purchase the goods online.

a toast to the rocketmen

Congratulations to our favorite pains in the ass, Dearly Departed, for it’s top 5 spot on Strictly Fitted’s list of honorable mentions. Since it’s inception, DD has quickly and QUIETLY gained momentum with only a few pieces, allowing the work to speak for itself (so entirely rare these days). Sky’s the limit boys! See who else made the cut HERE

Girl Interrupted

Actress Brittany Murphy died this morning at age 32, reportedly from cardiac arrest.

You probably remember her from Clueless and 8Mile.

I was a fan of Brittany Murphy. She did an AMAZING job playing her role in the film

Girl Interrupted, probably my all-time favorite movie.

She was particularly fantastic at playing “disturbed” roles.

I didn’t follow rumors on her personal life and who knows what will come out in the following days.

All I know is that she had genuine talent and her quirky cuteness will be missed.

My prayers are with her family, friends, and fans.
