The film begins with Natalie Portman as Nina Sayers, a seasoned ballerina who takes lead in Tchaikovsky’s tragic Swan Lake. From the beginning, Portman’s character is an uptight, easily shaken waif of a gal whose drive to dance ultimately takes her down a rabbit hole filled with seductive delusion. And that’s when the cool stuff starts happening. With costumes designed by Rodarte, the slightest touch of gore, AND an unexpected cameo by a drunken Winona Ryder, the visual appeal of this movie completely trumps the plot. In fact, half of the time I had no clue what was going on, but it didn’t matter because everything became so beautifully blown to bits -especially with the introduction of Mila Kunis’ dark side understudy, “Lily”. If you’re expecting anything clever (they actually use the term “ROLL” when Lily offers Nina Ecstasy), then this film’s not for you. But for ex-dancers and/or visual junkies like myself and the FIENDS, run run RUN to see this. 3 snaps in a Z formation.

Although it’s not cheap… Laura Mercier Caviar Dreams is very similar and at $15 it’s still SAVING you $10! You may remember Laura Mercier Caviar Dreams from the Bold Metallics post in 2008! I honestly don’t know if this was limited edition or not. But if you happen to have this you may not need to splurge on Black Pearl.

was developed for the Côte d’Azur Makeup Collection.

It’s on the sheer side. I recommend two to three coats or to layer Riva over a white polish.

Very beautiful for a winter mani/pedi.
