Current Beauty Faves for November 2011

Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation $42 – This satin-matte finish foundation is long-wearing yet hydrating. I am currently using this in 2.3 (C3 in MAC) Available at ULTA, Sephora, and other Smashbox retail locations.

NARS Laguna Bronzer $32 – Yes, I’m back to using Laguna. Still my absolute favorite bronzer. I use this more as a soft contour than a bronzer, because I obviously don’t feel the need to look very bronze in fall and winter. My summer fave NARS Casino is now too dark for me.

MAC Spiced Chocolate Eyeshadow Quad – Now discontinued, this is my absolute favorite eyeshadow quad MAC has ever put out. It looks amazing on green eyes and just SCREAMS fall. Look on ebay or just find similar colors for a similar look.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition – Demolition is a matte, dark brown eyeliner that glides on easily and then stays put. I really hope Urban Decay makes this full size and permanent! For now you can purchase it in the NAKED 24/7 set.

MAC Summerfruit Cremestick Liner $14.50 - The perfect peachy-nude lip liner. The cremestick formula is smooth, creamy and it glides on nicely. I line and color in my lips with this color. I find using lipliner rather than lipstick is better when my lips are dry.

Urban Decay Lip Love Honey-Infused Lip Therapy in Taunt $16 – Moisturizing and the perfect nude tint to wear over MAC Summerfruit. My lips stay soft and smooth with just the right amount of shine. It smells yummy too!

I added highlights to my hair this summer, and they looked great with my tanned skin. (Shout out to Tina Figueroa at Salon TRU) However, the recent lack of swimming and being out in the sun has equaled a lack of pigmentation in my skin. I tend to go a bit darker in my hair and polish choices during fall and winter, while my skin tends to do just the opposite. I think it balances out well.

I have to admit though, choosing the cherry chocolate shade has a lot to do with seeing the newest Twilight: Breaking Dawn pt.1. While the other girls in the theater were probably envious of Bella’s love life, I was more envious of her cherry chocolate locks.

I put Feria Chocolate Cherry box color on over the crown area of my hair and covered my highlights. The cherry color is more prominent where my highlights were, which was the look I was going for. I am also currently obsessed with MAC spiced chocolate eyeshadow quad and Essie Masquerade Belle, both cherry chocolate in color.

On Friday, November 25th MAC is bringing back the cult classic Black Knight Lipstick for one day only, exclusively online.

Black Knight is a cremesheen formula, and to be honest I don’t think it applied very well. I got rid of mine and I disagree that it is a cult classic. It came out two years ago as a part of Style Black, and I never heard anything of it since. Save your money for Daphne Guinness for MAC which will include a more wearable, dark pro longwear lipcreme.
