This was so much fun! Can’t wait to do it again next year! Warrior Dash 2011! 3.4 miles and 12 obstacles…are you a WARRIOR?

That’s me last summer, “poolside” which to me was sitting in the shade with spf 50 on… deep in thought… ON MY PHONE. Not a big deal, right? Everybody does it… right?

Unfortunately, this is how I showed up in my daughter’s journal.

There she is with brother, Dad, and Nana tossing the football around in the pool. Look how happy they are. Look how much fun they are having. Guess which one I am? The one in the shade with spf 50 on… deep in thought… ON MY PHONE.  smh

This summer, I’ll be IN THE POOL tossing around the ball. I’ll be IN THE SUN, even if it means getting some sun damage. They’re worth it. Here’s to ENJOYING summer

I go through phases of collecting things. When I was younger it was sea shells, foreign money, and PEZ dispensers. As I got older it was baby pictures of all my friends, photobooth strips, and Nike Dunks. Now I collect moments. Moments in time that aren’t for purchase.  The smells and feelings or conversations felt while traveling overseas, laugh sessions so long they burn my abs and a space in my heart, and sunsets. Here’s to kicking off my sunset collection.

This weekend I spent the day visiting my dogs, Ume & Bento. My parent’s weener dogs Sumo & Chorizo were there too. Sometimes you just need some weener in your life. In my case, Dachsund love is unmatched!

I always seem to feel ill when a change in the weather takes place. One of the best things about telling your friends you’re not feeling well is when they share their favorite remedies.

When I told Miss.Summer I had a sore throat and cough, she recommended I drink some black tea with honey, lemon, and garlic. I had these items in my kitchen already so not only was it convenient, but it really works!

With the risk of making this post sound super Eastern, claiming that all sickness can be healed with tea, I want to open up the comments section to readers to share their favorite cold/illness remedies.

How many of you have your jewelry stored away in a plastic container somewhere? Cluttered in a box to the point that you barely ever go through it when you get dressed to go out? I was that girl, and recently I’ve been looking for a nice way to store my jewelry on display so that I can remember to grab a piece and complete my look for the day/night. Saw this stand at Urban Outfitters and I fell in love.

Plenty of room on the top to store my favorite rings.

The bottom section is perfect for bracelets and cuffs.

Little holes in the piece are a perfect fit for earring posts to fit through.
