FIEND on the Screen: SALT

Angelina Jolie proves why she is still the raddest chick alive in her newest film, SALT.

Angie stans (like myself) wont feel bad dragging their men to this because it is NON-STOP bad ass action from start to finish. It keeps you guessing, “Who is SALT?” a Russian Spy or the Ultimate Patriot? I admit, after being on edge for 2 hours, the ending still left me wanting more.

Will YOU see it this weekend?

it’s way existential

Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa has recreated the infamous white mini dress from 1995’s cult classic, Clueless. AS IF my current obsession with the 90’s wasn’t bad enough! The dress is now available in white AND red at Confederacy for $916. I’m kvelling!!

Style Icons: Dominique Swain and Jeremy Irons as Dolores Hayes and Professor Humbert in Adrian Lyne’s LOLITA

A perfect pair. Her with the Swiss Miss braids and popsicle stained, red lips and him with puppy eyes and that simple air of “distinction” (if THAT’S what you call it) . Whether you think this is a tale of true love or pedophilia, you can’t deny its allure. Haven’t seen the film? Sorry to hear about that.

Style Icon: Kelly LeBrock as “Lisa” in Weird Science

Before Angelina’s lips, there were KELLY’S. And before Gary and Wyatt became Shermer High School’s hometown heroes, they were whipped into shape by the amazon of their own agenda: Lisa. Permed mall hair, Jazzercise get ups, and cutoff sweatshirts were at the top of their god awful game when the movie released in 1985.

The Lover Revisted

It’s been awhile since I’ve watched The Lover directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. Set in 1929 French Indochina, a young girl (with unusually exquisite style and a penchant for men’s fedoras) falls in lust with a dashing Chinese man almost twice her age. Beautifully shot with rumors that each love scene in the film was REAL, why wouldn’t you want to watch? ;)

Style Icons: The Lisbon Sisters of The Virgin Suicides

The girls of Sofia Coppola’s “The Virgin Suicides” epitomized 1970’s suburbia. Blonde and freshly scrubbed, the somber beauties floated around in their “nighties”, making their ill fate look dreamy and somewhat romantic.

HBO’s You Don’t Know Jack Premiering TOMORROW

Regardless of your personal views, there’s no denying Jack Kevorkian was/is a revolutionary and crusader. The HBO Original Movie, “You Don’t Know Jack” (starring Al Pacino) debuts tomorrow, along with a tee shirt conceptualized by Dearly Departed, in honor of the film. CRAZY.

Online EXCLUSIVE “Thanatos” tee. Thanatos, in Greek Mythology, was the non-violent spirit of death and also the inspiration for Dr. Kevorkian’s notorious death machine, aptly named the Thanatron.
