Red Riding Hood

I attended the press screening for Red Riding Hood on Monday with my mini Shew, and while I was skeptical, I actually enjoyed it. It’s one of those films that keeps you guessing up until the revealing moment. From the same director as Twilight, you Twilighters will appreciate the visuals.

In the film, Amanda Seyfried wears this amazing red hooded cape. Replicas are available only until March 12th exclusively on SeenOn.com for $599

Would You: SpiritHoods

Branded a NECESSITY for those who are wild at heart, SpiritHoods are handmade with the best quality faux fur. “In no way would we harm our furry friends. But don’t be mistaken, this fake fur truly feels and looks real. A great deal of time and energy was spent in the design of each hood, each having its own unique characteristics and charm, from ears to buttons – no two hoods are the same.”

SpiritHoods actively donates money to wildlife conservation including Wolf Hollow, Snow Leopard Conservancy, Polar Bear International, and Panda International.

Clownin

“I’ve been calling it ‘noble naivity’ – it’s taking the soft, sculpted, shaded beauty of an 18th century painting then giving it a whimsical, light sense of humour, as if a child has graffiti’d all over it.” Said Alex Box of MAC Cosmetics, who created this fiasco for Vivienne Westwood Red Label Fall 2011. What do you guys think? Fashion, funny, or straight FUGLY?

Bed Time Stories Dress Available Now

It’s warming up around these parts, so what better way to brace yourself than with this cute little number from Hellz Bellz. Inspired by the emotional thriller and theater blockbuster – Black Swan, HELLZ is pre-releasing one of S/S 2011’s most popular styles for a bone chillingly flawless kick-start to Spring. The ‘Bed Time Stories’ dress has been hand picked by clothing brand designer, Lanie Alabanza-Barcena directly to give all fashion insiders the opportunity to be the first to own this limited edition style. With geometric strap detail along with a feminine tu-tu like silhouette, the ‘Bed Time Stories’dress will make any good girl want to go bad. Available in small, medium, and large, the dress is said to run on the smaller side- perfect for teeny tinies. If you’re shy about showing that much skin (as I am), a pair of fishnets and a cropped cardigan will put you at ease. Hurry up, Bed Time Stories is only available until February 28th and once they’re gone, they’re GONE. Shop HERE

Top Picks From L.A.M.B. Fall 2011

L.A.M.B. closed NYFW with an amazing assemblage of six themes: Soldier Girls (glammed out military), Ragga Muffin Girls (rastafari meets Santa Fe-my FAVE), London Girls (tartans and boyish shapes), Buffalo Girls (street versions of the Wild West), Mod Girls (black and white 60’s inspired graphics), and Glamour Girls (all black everything with splashes of gold from Noir).

A Buffalo Gal shows off upswept turquoise eye liner and short black nails. View the entire beauty breakdown HERE.

The designer (sporting my latest hair obsession) and a very handsome escort :)

What were your favorite NYFW moments?

Fiendin For: February

Spring is right around the corner but I’m still lusting after a few fall finds. On my radar: Betsey Johnson’s “I Fucking Love You” chocolate box hats, MAC x Wonder Woman, and of course, more  Jonathan Adler. Supreme hit a home run with their quirky little spring accessories. Add a pair of Miu Miu clogs, some breath freshener, and a creepy clown cuff and voila! February faves!

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

A few of my favorite looks from the Betsey Johnson RTW Fall 2011 collection titled “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not”. The lineup showcased “references to punk, Edwardian, goth, hippie, rock ‘n’ roll, and everything in between.” I love how BJ is never afraid to be dramatic and pile on tons of makeup on the models (or herself). She’s what I LOVE about being a girl.

Redken stylist, Peter Gray created two looks, one of which involved black wigs that were spray painted with a gold shade (then sprayed again with black, using lace fabric as a stencil).

Maybelline New York’s global makeup artist, Charlotte Willer covered models’ eyes in blue eye shadow and thick black liner extended to the temples. Cheeks were kept pale, while lips were stained a deep crimson hue.

Sephora by OPI: Urban Ballerina

Inspired by the eclectic style of an urban ballerina, this striking collection infuses a punk-rock edge with the typically soft, sweet (and pink) palette of classical ballet. The shades in the Urban Ballerina collection reflect the urban dancer’s dynamic textures and colors, like shimmering pink satin, the steely gray of downtown buildings, and the neutral tones of a city landscape.

Available individually for $9 or in a mini set of four select colors on Sephora.com

Ballerina Chic

Ever since starting dance, I want to dress ballerina chic all day, every day..

Black stirrup leggings

Pale pinks and soft grays

Palm warmers

Ballet flats

Duffle bags

All from Topshop.. who I have a beef with at the moment. Don’t order from them online unless you are ok with getting your items a month or two later. They also don’t respond to customer service emails :(

If you’re lucky enough to be in NY near their Broadway store… shop away
