anyone remember VINYL?

September’s First Friday event will benefit UMOM New Day Centers, whose mission is “to provide homeless and low-income families with food, shelter and tools to build a bridge to self-sufficiency”. Juicebox DJ’s (KGB and Ms. ROBS) and a slew of others will rock the party solely on WAX. The best part of watching a dj *for ME anyway, was seeing how quick they could go in and out of their records (hello Kid Capri!) Although I don’t miss helping to carry crates in the club, I definitely miss “the show”. Artist in attendance is the lovely Tiphanie Brooke of ANTIGIRL, who created our flyer :) Come join us and support!

    Hahahahaaha, OMG, I remember helping Dan carry all those damn crates out of the club in my drunken stupor. LOL… good times. Still my favorite was watching Dan throw the vinyl across the room. That is forever etched in my brain.

    Mikee would carry 2 crates while I pulled the big roller crate. I remember his record cases being so worn from all the use. I remember being amazed at how nicely Robby kept his records in his crates, his record cases were immaculate. Lol @ Robby and Dan throwing/breaking records, Mikee never did do that.

    Anyway, I really can’t wait for this night. LOVE the flyer :)

    i used to LOVE watching Fashen flip thru his crates….he was super FAST!!!!! i miss his crunk sets. long live walter krunkite.

    Those crates were nothing “light” either. Lol. Robby used to have his record cases numbered with the BPMs in black marker and he always smelled clean. Like if he just took the shirt he was wearing fresh out the wash and dry. :) <– random.
