Set to launch this summer comes Alexander McQueen chonies. They’re OK I think. A little femme, but that’s the point I guess. According to WWD: Among Lee Alexander McQueen’s final projects was a men’s underwear collection, licensed to Italy’s Albisetti SpA and slated to arrive in stores worldwide in June. McQueen chief executive officer Jonathan Akeroyd described the collaboration with Albisetti as a long-term one, spanning basic underwear, luxurious Savile Row-inspired sleepwear, military-flavored loungewear, a seasonal fashion range and — coming for summer 2011 — swimwear. At $52.50 per pair, would YOU buy them for your boo? I’m gonna pass :/

We teased Alexander McQueen’s collaboration with Target back in November. Here’s one of my favorite looks from the line. View the entire collection HERE

Awhile back, it was confirmed that Alexander McQueen would be first in line for Target’s new Designer Collaborations project. And of course, behind every great man’s vision, lies some female influence. According to WWD: Participating designers in the Target program will draw inspiration from a muse, creative element or collaborative partner. McQueen chose as his muse Liela Moss, the lead singer of The Duke Spirit. Moss’ style gave the clothes their rock ’n’ roll–punk vibe and hip Brit accents “I was looking for someone with the uttermost feeling of McQ,†said McQueen. “We use icons in British music, and she stood out. She’s a great-looking girl and has a personal style. It fell into the idea of the New York underground music scene. It was more the atmosphere she portrays.â€
McQueen’s collection for Target’s new Designer Collaborations will launch in March.

In March, Target will launch a new marketing ploy called Designer Collaborations. According to Women’s Wear Daily, “The program will bring the styles of well-established designers to the mass merchant at typical Target prices.” First in line is Alexander McQueen, whose line will include rock inspired studding and tattoo print fabric. Do I smell Ed Hardy Junior?? ICK. Designer Collaborations is a TOTALLY separate entity from Target’s Go International campaign, which features a more “up and coming” set of designers. No word on pricing or release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
